Room 120 AB

While personal experiences serve to improve our craft, it can often times be the very thing that leads to emotional burnout and professional turn over in the human services field. Interpersonal dynamics run rampant as we encounter individuals with varying abilities, backgrounds, and even innate temperaments. What we bring to the table personally and professionally adds to this dynamic, and not always in the manner in which we intend. Fortunately, when examining our work through the lens of human beings as a herd society, there are some simple truths upon which we can rely. Come explore theories of attachment and social learning, trauma, the autonomic nervous system and human stress response. Develop a greater understanding of how to be successful in human service professions and walk away with empirically supported methods for successfully connecting with/guiding individuals of all ages.
