Using the Science of Persuasion to Improve Job Development Outcome (Part 2)

October 26, 2018    2:15  -  3:45

The presentation will focus on the Principals of Persuasion, popularized by Dr. Robert Cialdini, applied to the activity of job development for those experiencing a developmental disability.

The persuasion principals include reciprocity, scarcity, authority, consistency, liking, and consensus.

Participants will get interactive classroom-style instruction on the principals and how they can be applied to the job development process. They will also get to role play, honing their job development presentations to employers with other attendees using these principals.

The goal is to increase the direct service provider’s employment outcomes and to become more persuasive and confident in job development.
