The Competing Behavior Pathway: A Tool for Creating Strategic and Effective Behavior Intervention Plans

August 11, 2023    10:30AM  -  12PM

We LOVE strategies. We love strategies so much that we often throw “everything and the kitchen sink” into our plans to reduce a behavior of concern. The struggle with this approach is that it is often resource intense and lacks intention. In this session, the Competing Behavior Pathway will be presented as a useful tool to plan strategic and organized interventions around the behavior of concern, all while setting the individual and environment up for success and focusing on building new behaviors and skills.

Learning Objectives:

1. Participants will become familiar with the Competing Behavior Pathway

2. Participants will learn how to match interventions strategically

3. Participants will learn the essential components of a comprehensive behavior intervention plan
