TEACCH Part 2

November 8, 2019    1:45 PM  -  3:15 PM
Room 120 C

Structured Teaching (TEACCH) includes an array of strategies designed to provide both visual and physical supports to individuals who require additional support in their environment to understand expectations and routines (Mesibov, Shea, & Schopler, 2004). Although identified as an EBP for individuals with ASD, these practices have been widely used with a variety of learners who have similar learning needs and thrive in structured learning environments. This two-part workshop will cover the five foundational practices covered under the “umbrella” of Structured Teaching: physical structure, visual structure, schedules, work systems, and structured teaching tasks. Participants will leave with a variety of strategies to utilize in the home, clinic, school, and community settings.
