Overwhelmed Advocates: Empowering Parents, Caregivers & New Professionals Part 1

Advocating for children with unique struggles and special needs is an overwhelming experience for a great number of parents, caregivers, and new professionals. From feeling woefully uninformed and unsure of where to begin, to struggling with fraud syndrome and second guessing their decisions, many of the most critical advocates in a child’s life even find themselves questioning the very value of their efforts. Empowering key players to embrace their role requires an understanding of where such struggles originate, as well as strategies for working through these challenges to persevere in the face of burnout.
