Direct Support Professionals help people make decisions all the time. This is a major part of their role in supporting people. That said, choice making is very difficult in our own personal decision making lives. When helping another in their process, it is challenging and difficult at best. Helping another make THEIR own decision is a complex process. This session will offer participants some tools and skills that can assist direct support professionals in this important task. Workshop attendees will leave with the research based and validated NADSP 5 Step Process of Supporting Informed Decision Making.
