November 7, 2019    10:45 AM  -  12:15 PM
Room 110 CD

Do looks really matter? How we view our bodies is a multi-faceted construct. Positive and negative body image affects every person’s perceptions of themselves and others, including the practitioner/patient relationship. A vast majority of literature discusses negative body image in a variety of population, conditions, and cultures. However, we need to learn how to develop a positive body image. Building a positive body image is more than just not having a negative body image. This presentation will provide skills/tools to build a personal, positive body image and, by extension, potentially assist patients/clients in various settings.
