Every Person Is Verbal
Working with individuals with specific needs or support requires compassion, patience, understanding, and lots of respect. For the clients or participants you work with that don’t communicate through spoken words, are you ensuring they are heard, validated, and respected? Sometimes while working with individuals who are non-speaking, we forget how much they’re actually communicating through their behaviors and other verbal occurrences. Throughout this session, we will discuss verbal behavior, communication modalities, and strategies to more effectively support your client’s and participants whether they are speaking or non-speaking.
