Damaged Personal Truths: The Emotional Epidemic of Childhood Conditioning Part 2
From persistent people pleasing to habitual defiance, all regularly exhibited reactionary behaviors can be traced back to a worldview that forms in early in life when innate temperaments mix with lived experiences. They say that no one escapes childhood unscathed, and this is never more true than when we consider the damaged personal narratives from which many of us operate! Join us as we explore the emotional impact of childhood conditioning, how it presents in the people we serve, and exactly what we should do to successfully cultivate connection and enact positive change in the human service profession.
Following this interactive workshop, participant will be able to
1. Adopt a clear understanding of how repetitive experiences in childhood interact with innate temperament to form our sense of self and worldview
2. Consider the ways in which sense of self and perspective generates problematic behavior patterns in the people we serve
3. Develop strategies for navigating around emotional barriers to cultivate connection and create positive change
